Way back in 1998 the Blue Pete appeal was for cans, and daughter No3 was invited on to the programme to share her idea for squashing the cans with a steam roller. The idea had been that we would arrange for a local company to come in and drive their steam roller over all the cans the school had collected for the appeal and that the BBC would come film it.
Sadly the council refused permission for this too happen, so they did it in the studio instead with Heather on the phone at home.
We transferred this from video today, and I thought it would be a nice thing to share. Shame they got the name of the school wrong.
She had been pre-primed what to say as she could not actually see the tv during all this.
