Metal Mummy's Movie Meme

new to blogging, but love reading them, so thought I would join in.

I'm a tad older than some of you and had 3 children by the time my favourite film of the 80's came out. I agree there were a lot of different genres of film and many good ones out but my all time favourite of the decade was

A group of tenants in an apartment block are being forced to move out so that it can be demolished. The tenants are reluctant to move, so the developers hire a local gang to 'persuade' them to leave. Fortunately, visiting alien mechanical life-forms come to town. When they befriend the tenants, the aliens use their extraterrestrial abilities to defeat the developers

- It is a very sentimental film, sad enough to make me cry, lovely enough it appeals to the whole family, and enough going on that the children didn't get bored with it, and a great lesson in how banding together as a community can achieve a result - and my film I hear you ask
