Buy a brilliant book to help the NSPCC

The NSPCC like so many other charities these days are struggling for funds and have to find ways to give back something for your money, which is why they have brought out a new book to entice you to part with your pennies. What better a time than near Christmas hoping their book will find its way into stockings up and down the country?

Last years book, Gemma Elwin Harris's Big Questions From Little People,  has raised over £100,000 which is brilliant.

This years book is called Does my goldfish know who I am?

Does My Goldfish Know Who I Am? continues to tackle the perennial parental problem of the ever-inquisitive child. Featuring over 300 real questions from the inexhaustible imaginations of primary school aged children, it offers bite-sized answers from world class experts - digestible in under 60 seconds. It features lots of well known names such as Sir David Attenborough, Prof Brian Cox, Paul McCartney and Miranda Hart, answering questions like:

Does the Universe have an edge? Why do we close our eyes when we sneeze?  What are humans for? What was Captain Hook’s name before he had his hand bitten off? Why do we have feelings?
I know I am of an older generation but I still think books should be made from paper, that children can flick through, dip into and out of, and actually hold in their hands. I know all the e-books have a place in modern society but give me a proper book any day.

Children are inquisitive creatures and they soak up facts and figures and information like little sponges, so I feel this book is brilliant.

This one made me laugh, I often have a problem with wind, and the grandchildren fall about laughing as they reach for their gas masks every time.

Each question and answer is only one to two pages long, so dead easy to pick up and look at for five minutes, and hopefully stay absorbed in for much longer. There are black and white cartoon drawings to break the book up, and easy to spot if they are literally flicking through.

A great book, a really interesting read, and it will help out children less fortunate than your own. What better reason do you need to pop across here and buy a copy, or two, and add them to your children's stockings this year. Some nice chillax time in amongst the chaos that can be Christmas Day.

I was supplied with a copy of the book for the purposes of this review.
