Sunday
I won some wool the other week, but gave away my knitting needles and crochet hooks a few years back to a local charity organisation that does a crafting afternoon once a month. So a fellow comper had just won some need needles and hooks and read my post and sent me some of hers. She also told me you just knit normally on circular needles, I always thought you just used them for circular knitting....oopps
Monday
Hubby and I both had GP appointments this morning. I have been having issues with my Menieres Disease and I was not sure whether a change of medication might be an option. But due to my allergy issues it was decided to up the dose of my current medication, I am on the lowest dose to see if that helps. My rosacea has also flared up and I keep getting asked at work if I am ok as I am very red in the face, so also got a cream to help reduce this.
Finished off the cross stitching on Baby Roo's blanket. It now has her details on it. A bit disappointed that the confines of the boxes have made placing the wording rather untidy looking but having unpicked the verse a few times it was the best I was getting it.
Tuesday
A very bracing walk along the beach today.
Wednesday
I was in the town so added to my beach mileage for the week. Unfortunately it rained, probably for less than three minutes but enough to soak my bottom half. Was freezing but half dry due to the wind time I reached my destination.
Hubby's arm has come up in a lovely bruise.
Thursday
Hubby got a phone call to say they needed another blood sample off of him. So a walk along the beach again for us and the dog. There was masses and masses of debris lying along the path, large pebbles, sticks and seaweed as well as sand have all been blown over the wall since we were last here.
Friday
I got a backing onto the cross stitch blanket this morning. That is it now finished. Thank goodness, this cross stitching seems to have been going on forever.
I decided to knit some items for the prem baby unit. Made this one first and then asked for opinions on the colour but everybody said it was a great colour so that is fine by me.
Watched the three wee ones while DD1 went to pick up Bob from gymnastics.
Saturday
This is my stats from this week. So this week has been 3090 minutes of cardio and fat burning, that is 51.5 hrs/
Do not feel I have much to gain from more walking so been using resistance bands this week. Found this workout that fits nicely with what I have been doing.
I do like the red of the premmie clothes - nice to see some bright colours. Well done on the wool win and for using it to make something so positive.
ReplyDeleteseems a shame to win the wool and then have it rotting away unused.
DeleteNice win, Elaine! The only wins I've had in the last year seems to be books, books, books. Hope your meds top up works for you. That's one nasty bruise.
ReplyDeleteThe cross stitch is not untidy at all. How lovely that you are knitting clothes for premies.
I am always critical of what I make, but the finished project ( if I say so myself) looks amazing.
DeleteWe have had the wind but it's been quite dry and bright here.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the knitting. It looks like you are all set up now. That is lovely to knit for the prem baby unit. It is a lovely colour. and Baby Roo's blanket looks fab too. x
I am sure the baby unit will use them and I do hope they cheer people up.
DeleteWow, you've certainly been doing a lot of exercise! I love the photo of the stormy sea, although I can just imagine how cold it was. I love the baby blanket and the tiny baby clothes, I'm sure they will be very appreciated!
ReplyDeleteIt was rather chilly along the beach but nothing some layers of clothes wont help with.
DeleteI think it's great that you are making so many lovely things for family and charity. The debris left behind due to the weather could be used in something creative I imagine too #365
ReplyDeleteI know people who make great pictures from washed up stuff
DeleteIt shows just how story its been with all that debris. How lovely for someone to send you some needles and I love the little red hat and jumper you have knitted. They will make a new parent very happy such a lovely thing to do xx
ReplyDeleteI hope it puts a smile on a stressed parents face
DeleteOuch that bruise looks nasty!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the win and nice of your friend to send the needles.
That stormy sea looks wild! We have had a lot of wind here too.
love to stand and watch a storm, from a safe spot
DeleteOh dear that bruise looks sore. I love the embroidery, you are amazing. What a beautiful heirloom. The weather has been crazy. xx
ReplyDeleteweather has been rather rough hasn't it
DeleteI love the knitting you;'ve been doing for the baby unit, how kind a fellow blogger sent you some needles. Sorry to hear you've been under the weather again, hope you're picking up
