Bought these a while ago to make up more eco friendly cleaners. Trying to go more eco friendly this year to try and help make this planet a better place to be for my grandchildren's grandchildren. Made one with half water and half vinegar but hubby did not like it so I poured it in the washing machine. So made one with tea tree oil and water and one with lemon oil and water.
Monday
More of a clear out. Cases in the loft that have been there full of mainly towels in suit cases we cleared from mums house nearly twenty years ago. Never going to use them so arranging to hand them into another local organisation that helps homeless people furnish their houses. No point on holding onto them any longer. Washed and dried them all ready to give away.
Finished one of the cardigans I am knitting for Roo. You cant see it very well but it is lemon at the top, a lighter yellow in the middle and white at the bottom.

Tuesday
Had a smattering of snow over night but it came to nothing worth talking about.
Tea tonight was chicken in breadcrumbs seasoned with with fajita seasoning. Makes a change from plain chicken and uses some of my home made crumbs.

Wednesday
Went into town to pick up a prescription and do my cheap food shopping. Had a walk while I was there. A few of these old post boxes built into walls still in the area and still used.
I was suppose to be going to a ride leader meeting tonight but forgot all about it until I got a phone call reminding me, oops to late by then. To be honest the only thing that has been on my mind this week is getting back to work and hoping it goes ok rather than going wrong like it did three months ago. Ten minutes later DD3 phoned to say she had left her door keys at work....numpty.....so I went and picked up the keys from DD1, went and let her in, stopped for a chat, locked her in so I could give the keys back to DD1 as Fifi needed them the next day as she was going to DD3s after school. Just as well I did not go to the meeting else she would have been stuck.

Thursday
There was a community event on this morning. One of the things they are going to do is a morning on how to write a CV, another one on filling in application forms and the likes. I am thinking ahead with this as I doubt I am going to be able to do my job for another five years and some time soon I may well be looking for a less physical job. Love my job but got to be practical and as well learning it all now as later. Went down with DD1 and Spud. She found every puddle on the way home, as kids do.

Friday
Wrote up my Swizzels blog post, did a few bits of sewing that have been sitting for far to long and some housework and walked the dog, but that was as exciting as it got.
Saturday
Back to work starting with one day a week to see how it goes, have to say been stressing about it quite a bit this week in case it flares up again and then I find myself jobless. But it went ok. Was nice to have been missed and to catch up with friends.
Have done 147 miles of my #walk1000miles in January, some of it has been done on the exercise bike but you can count any mileage done with your feet so still counts.

I'm glad your first day back at work went well. I can understand why you were so worried about it. Working on your CV sounds like a very sensible thing to do! Glad you were able to sort DD3 out when she locked herself out. Roo's cardigan is beautiful.
ReplyDeletethankfully I am not as worried about going back this week.
DeleteGlad the first day back went well, but think you are wise to plan for the future too. I do like your walking tracker sheet - it makes it all very visual.
ReplyDeletethe map came with a magazine it does make it easier to see the progress
DeleteGlad it all went well with going back to work. Very impressed with your walking - love the map to colour in. Loving the sound of the fajita chicken too - sounds like something I could make. I'm sure the kids would approve ! :)
ReplyDeleteyou should give it a try, makes a nice something different with chicken
DeleteGlad your first day back at work went well!
ReplyDeleteI am loving that cardigan and the different shades of yellow...so pretty!
Well done on the walking. Your chicken dinner looks so tasty!
thanks, the cardigan is simple but looks nice
DeleteThose spray bottles are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for giving the stuff in your loft away. There isn't any point in keeping it if you're not going to use it.
That cardigan is really pretty. My great aunt used to knit things like that when I was little.
We have an old post box like that where I live. The girls were amazed with it when they first saw it.
You must be pleased to get back to work even if it is just one day a week. I'm glad it went well. x
one less thing to throw away when the children clear the loft into a skip!!
DeleteLove the walking map. Nice to see how it's progressing. Pleased that work went well. The community wwork preparation sessions sounds helpful.
ReplyDeleteyes the community sessions hopefully will make a difference in the long run
DeleteI keep meaning to try making my own cleaners too. I’ve tried white wine vinegar but not keen on the smell. Tea tree oil or lemon essential oil sound like good alternatives. Love the cardigan you knitted for Roo, so pretty. Sounds like it was just as well you missed the ride leader meeting – glad you were able to help your daughter out. Glad that your day back at work went ok and well done on walking 147 miles in January. #project366
ReplyDeleteyes DD3 would have been snookered had I been at the meeting. Maybe fate told me not to go
DeleteThe chicken dinner looks lovely and now I've got to clear out my Auntie's flat I can see that I really need to do the same here too. Good to pass things on to those in need isn't it #366
ReplyDeleteclear your Aunts flat to a good charitable cause I am sure there will be some in the area that can take them off your hands
DeleteGlad the first day back went well. I really hope you get a break. It is wise to plan for the future. I love the idea of the walking tracker sheet, plus I loved those photos xx
ReplyDeleteI seem to be getting a break at the moment thankfully.

ReplyDeleteThe spray bottles for cleaning are a great idea! Did the vinegar one was too smelly? I have used a vinegar solution only for windows and mirrors. Love the pretty cardigan.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your first day back to work went well. Big well done on walking 147 miles in January, that's fantastic.
So glad to hear you're back in work, but sounds sensible to start looking for something else now. The knitted cardigan is lovely
ReplyDelete! also have to factor in the fact I am over 60 when trying to look for a new job
DeleteWe have one of those old post boxes. I hope they never get rid of it. We also loved our Swizzles sweets too!
ReplyDelete#project365
Love that old post box! I am sneakily eating my Swizzels when the kids aren't looking! #project366
