Paprika potatoes

I think a lot of us are feeling the pinch when it comes to buying basics these days, with food being one of the many item that is just going up and up.

We try to make all our food from scratch. Tonight for tea instead of just plain boring old boiled potato I decided to do something simple but different,

  • I washed and sliced four largish potatoes, and par boiled them for six minutes.
  • I drained them and then added three tablespoons of oil, some salt and pepper and a tablespoon of paprika pepper to the pan
  • return the potatoes to the pan and toss in the seasoned oil
  • place onto a baking tray and cook in the oven for approx thirty mins to crispy and cooked.

This can be cooked at the same time as you have the oven on for something else, either a baking or a main course to complement the potatoes.

I served ours with sweetcorn and smoked pork sausage.

The potatoes were flavoursome and as paprika is not overly hot they made for a very pleasant change to the norm. Why buy spices wedges when it is easy to make your own?

The paprika pepper was supplied by Healthy Supplies, the idea was my own.
