Vax Pressure washer 2200w - a review

First thing we noticed when the pressure washer arrived was how really well packed and compact the box was, very light and easy to lift, unpacking was a breeze which is more than can be said for a lot of products.

A quick read of the instruction manual and on to assembly which was really very straight forward. I could probably have managed easily without the instruction book however I have had experience assembling pressure washers in the past, the unit we tested came with wheels and a handle all ready attached so assembly was minimal, if you are in any doubt it is advised to thoroughly read the easy to understand manual.

First impression of the Vax Pressure washer 2200w was how lightweight and compact the unit was and of a very high build quality it felt sturdy and robust enough to take all the rigours and knocking about that goes with the job of pressure washing.

The washer comes with all the attachments necessary to  do almost any job required of it, a good long ten metre hose, and five metre power cable make manoeuvrability of the washer a breeze not having to continually drag it around behind you makes life so much easier.

Both the hose and power cable can be stored on the unit though personally I remove the hose, coil it and store separately. The trigger handle is extremely easy to use, nice easy to squeeze trigger with a very sensible safety lock, a very easy to attach (simple push and twist) lance complete with three separate nozzles (colour coded for easy identification) for different jobs, the jet, turbo and solution nozzles cover just about any job you will need to do with the washer.

the slabs before and after.
The supplied washer solution bag is a very easy to use, just at the required amount of water to dilute the solution pop in the solution tube (as shown in easy to understand instruction manual) and off you go. An added bonus was the supplied water inlet connector so no having to rush out to the DIY store at the last minute to obtain one, simple little things by Vax that make it so easy.

On to the actual use of the washer, as can be seen from the video and photographs this unit performed more than adequately in all of the tasks we set it, it made short work of everything we threw at it from cleaning very grubby slabs to washing the windows it was a joy to use, very quiet and powerful, the motor only runs when you squeeze the trigger so if you stop and put the lance down it does not continually run therefore nicer to use as well as saving water and power. This did cause us a moment of panic when we first switched the machine on, the machine started to make a noise, then stopped a second later, we did spend a minute or so looking at various parts of the machine and the tap to make sure the water was turned on.

it manages patterned slabs equally as well.

We also received the optional car cleaning kit which we found to be a very useful tool indeed, consisting of a brush, rotating brush and an extension lance it easily did exactly what was required of  it making cleaning the car a breeze. This is a great money saver, no need to pay at a garage any more.

Incidentally the extension lance supplied with the car kit can be used when pressure washing in general, we found when cleaning the slabs it meant we did not have as much of a stoop making it a little easier on our back when using it for longer periods.

To sum up the Vax  does exactly what it says on the tin, or in this case the box, the water goes in and comes out at high pressure and this well designed and well built easy to use unit makes it a pleasure to use, complete with a manufacturers 2 year guarantee. This is a no brainer when it comes to the purchase of a pressure washer, we can highly recommend it.

We were sent the pressure washer to do a review on, but all thoughts and findings are our own.
